Three things you must do everyday

My dad was remarried when I was in my 20s and, as the best-man, I was asked to give the obligatory advice speech. Thing was, at that age, I didn’t really feel that I had enough life experience to offer anything beyond a funny rant.
So, I decided instead to borrow from a speech given by legendary NC State basketball coach, Jim Valvano or Jimmy V as he was known, shortly before he passed from cancer. In that short moment on the podium Jim revealed the three things that every person must do every day to live an engaged life. His words, his vibrance and his passion moved me to tears…in a good, no, a great way. And, I felt compelled to pass it on.
Here is the video of that speech (not mine, trust me, I butchered that one, this is Jim’s speech). Enjoy it.

So I can only picture what you told your father. Focus on his family, his religion and on the Green Bay Packers. For a successful marriage.

great video. this should be common sense but unfortunately in the chaos of our daily lives we sometimes forget what is really important.

@ Michael - so often, it’s simplest things that we forget, yet are the most powerful!
@ SJ - Jimmy V was an incredible coach and person, players would’ve done anything for him, great example on many levels.
