What Would YOU With 10 Days and 1,000 Pounds of Butter?

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Shared by Dan Covington from Kansas City State Fair

So, this wasn’t my planned post, but…

When someone in our Awake@TheWheel community threatens to send me a photo of a sculpture made out of 1,000 pounds of butter…then does, I’ve just gotta respond.

The image comes to us from Dan Covington and it shows what happens when you put sculptor, Sharon BuMann, in a refrigerated, plate-glass room for 10 days with 1,000 pounds of butter.

The sculpture depicts a brother and sister, rushing to get their bunnies to the fair and it seems as if they’ve crashed their Fiat convertible with the sister now sitting on the door painting her nails and the brother trying to hitch a ride somewhere. No word on the bunnies.

7 Things I learned From Summer Vacation

Short and sweet lessons from my week at the beach..

  1. Thong bikinis have a front and a back (apologies for the mental image)
  2. Vacation diet tip: shower outside in front a a full length mirror before every meal.
  3. Never leave a pizza box in the car you leave at home…even if you think it’s empty…especially when it’s parked in the sun.
  4. Sand is the enemy…it also doesn’t replace croutons well in salad.
  5. Just ’cause you’re at the beach, doesn’t mean the chowder ain’t Campbells
  6. Never take a grown up size tube down a child sized enclosed slide at the water park
